About the Speakers:

Ms Lucia Schoombee
Subject Matter Expert, Elsevier

Lucia is a Subject Matter Expert with Elsevier, specializing in research analytics. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, she supports the optimization of analytical tools and databases such as Scopus and SciVal. Her role includes developing and expanding Elsevier partnerships and enhancing their value through consultation and capacity-building programs. She has authored studies on research management and regularly teaches about the application of research metrics. Lucia holds an MPhil in Science and Technology Studies from Stellenbosch University and is currently a PhD candidate focusing on Science and the Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr Yan Li
Senior Scientific Editor, Cell Press

Dr Li works at Cell Press, where he currently serves as a Senior Scientific Editor for the materials science journal Matter and the open-access physical science journal Cell Reports Physical Science. He received his PhD in Chemistry from Tsinghua University and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Houston and Wageningen University. Prior to joining Cell Press, he worked as a journal editor at Wiley for many years.
