New Database: Using scite to Analyse Research Performance

scite is an AI platform that uses Smart Citations to evaluate scientific articles by showing reference context and indicating supporting or contrasting evidence. This tool can assist scholars in undertaking citation analysis and examining the publication landscape of their research topics.

OWS Inspiration Challenge – What’s Your Takeaway? Join and Win a Prize!

Have you ever noticed the students’ success stories featured in the PolyU Outstanding Work by Students (OWS) Showcase? Now's your chance to learn from them, share your insights, and win a fantastic prize!

Our OWS Showcase, in both physical and online forms, covers two types of student works: (1) exceptional individual or group works that achieve internal or external recognition, and (2) motivational social innovation projects that contribute towards societal betterment.

The learning-to-learn experiences behind the exemplary student works are documented to foster knowledge sharing in the PolyU community. Let’s get inspired by your peers and join this inspiration challenge!

How?

  1. Read through a student story in the OWS Showcase on Library Podium Floor or OWS portal.
  2. Share how the story inspires you on your own Facebook/Instagram account, including:
    (a) An image OR a video featuring the OWS story
    (b) A brief explanation (40+ words) about your takeaway
    (c) Add hashtags #PolyUOWS and #PolyULibrary
  3. Email a screenshot of your post to lbueo@polyu.edu.hk with the subject line “Submission for OWS Inspiration Challenge”. Provide your name and student ID in the email.
  4. The Challenge is open to PolyU students. Each participant can submit one entry only.

When?

Submissions will be accepted from 4 to 29 March 2024.

Prizes

Submissions will be evaluated based on creativity, originality, and constructiveness. All satisfactory entries will be recognized with a Gold, Silver, or Bronze category, each receiving a book voucher prize (Gold - $300, Silver - $200, Bronze - $100).

Open Access Publishing in Wiley Journals

Join this upcoming seminar to discover how you can publish your open access articles in Wiley’s journal without paying the Article Processing Charge (APC)!

The Library has recently signed a Transformative Agreement (TA) with Wiley, enabling PolyU authors to publish open access articles with a full waiver of APC. As part of this agreement, a limited quota of APC waiver are offered by Wiley for each year on a first-come-first-served basis. This seminar will provide you with valuable insights into this agreement and guide you through the process of submitting your publications to take advantage of this waiver.

All postgraduate students and researchers are welcome!
