Making Your Research Count (by SpringerNature)
The seminar aims to help our early career researchers and experienced researchers better understand the journals Nature publishes and how to make your research impactful. The talk will be covering the following topics:
- Better understand the differences between the journals Nature publishes.
- Appreciate the increasing importance of making your research more open to
- Improve the quality of your research.
- Improve the usefulness of your research to others.
- Improve the impact of your research.
- Learn how to write better papers that are clearer, more accessible, more likely to get published, and more likely to make a difference to the world.

About the Speaker
Ed Gerstner joined Nature in 2002 after several years in postdoctoral research. He has over 15 years of editorial experience at Nature journals including Nature, Nature Materials, Nature Physics, and Nature Communications.
As the Executive Editor of Nature Research, Ed is responsible for leading Nature’s editorial presence in China, building and supporting a team of editors from across the Nature Research family, and forging strong relationships with scientists, research institutions, policy makers, and funders of Chinese research. He is also championing the benefits of open research, and helping scientists to publish in the world’s best journals. Ed received his PhD in Physics from University of Sydney.

Front staircase from 5/F to P/F will be temporarily closed for rubber flooring rectification works until 31 Jan 2018. The schedule may be slightly adjusted according to the work progress.
