Don't know how to format the references in a paper?
Look up the article or book on Google Scholar, then click “Cite” (if you can’t see it, click “More”).
Copy the citation in MLA, APA, or Chicago style, and paste it to your paper.
If you have setup a PolyU RefWork account, you can also import it directly to your own account.
- Find Top Journals by Discipline
Ready to publish your paper to a prestigious journal? Try “Scholar Metrics”.
On Google Scholar front page, click the "Metrics" icon.
Click on individual subject to view by subcategorie. Journals are ranked by their h-index.
- Set Up a Citation Alert
Do you want to be alerted when a particular paper is cited? Here is how:
First, look it up on Google Scholar. Then, click the “Cited by” link.
Look for the “Create alert” link on the left, and input your email address to create an alert.
- Display Full-text Articles on Google Scholar
When you see “PolyU eLinks” beside the source, click on it to go to a Library database.
Don’t see the PolyU eLinks? Are you off-campus?
Go to Google Scholar's Settings. Under “Library Link”, look up “Hong Kong Polytechnic”. Save your setting, and repeat the search.
Or simply access Google Scholar via this link: Google Scholar at PolyU.
You will be prompted to login with your NetID or Library ID
Still no luck?
Under the search result, click "All versions" to check out alternative sources.
Eligible users could also request for the article via the Library ILL services.
