• Reserve and Use Library Facilities with Your OWN Library Accounts
  
  

Library users can now enjoy the convenience of booking computer workstations and research carrels in advance on the Library's iBooking System. Please be reminded that each Library user assumes personal responsibility for the use of his own Library account, and should never disclose the PIN to others. Users might be subject to disciplinary action if they are found using the Library accounts of other users, or disclosing their Library account numbers and PINs to let others book or use Library resources or facilities.

• Protect Library e-Resources against Copyright Infringement and Avoid Excessive Download
  
  

The Library subscribes to many electronic databases, e-journals, e-books and other electronic materials for our PolyU community. We are sure our users find these electronic resources very useful in supporting their study, teaching and research.

When using the Library e-resources, we should be mindful of the copyright and license restrictions and should observe the Copyright Warning:



Users are advised of the following:




Avoid using any automated robotic crawlers or spiders on any Library e-resources and databases.


Under no circumstance should we share our passwords to any other persons to gain access to these resources. We are each personally liable if this were to occur.


Departments are strongly recommended to implement PC logins to all shared or public computers to facilitate user identification in the case of copyright infringement or similar abusive incidents.



The Library and the University have made a great deal of effort to make the electronic resources available to our users. All of us will lose the opportunity to use these materials if we allow copyright/license infringement to occur while having no respect for the intellectual property rights assigned to these products. We need your help to protect the valuable Library resources for our PolyU community.
