The Common Book 2013/14: The Hunger Games by Susanne Collins
Written in 2008 by an American writer, Susanne Collins, it is a futuristic story of Katniss, a 16-year-old girl, who volunteered to take up the place of her young sister, to battle with other young people until death in a man-made wilderness. The whole process was master-minded by an authoritarian government, and broadcasted in a real-life television show called the “Hunger Games”. |
