PROFILE
With the departure of Ms Gwendolin Wong (former Institutional Repository Librarian) in late October 2010, Ms Mei Li, Assistant Librarian (Collection Development/Liaison), is now the co-ordinator of the PolyU Institutional Repository.
Through this digital archive initiative, the Library aims to create permanent records of the institution’s research and scholarly output in digital format and to make them globally and openly accessible. All faculty members are encouraged to deposit their scholarly output to the PolyU IR by online submission, emailing materials to the PolyU IR staff (lbir@polyu.edu.hk) or contacting your Faculty/Schools Librarian.
Mr Oliver Shum, Assistant Librarian (Bibliographic Control), has just retired after 27 years of loyal service to the Library. Behind the scene, Oliver was mainly responsible for the cataloguing of English and audio-visual materials, making these vital resources easily accessible by our users. Oliver, we thank you for your contribution and wish you all the best with your retirement.
To further promote our Library as the University’s Learning Hub, a new Marketing Group is formed. Current library staff, Mr Patrick Fong and Ms Salina Ma, were recruited to join this team. With the direction of Ms Sam Lam, our Marketing Manager, more marketing projects and exciting initiatives will be on the way and showcase to the PolyU community.
